Programme of work - Generic Youth Work

youth workGeneric Youth Work - As the contract holder for the delivery of youth work provision for 13-19 year olds in the Doxford and St Chad’s wards, The Box Youth Project has oered a wide variety of opportunities

Outreach youth work – youth workers have worked with young people out on the streets, providing information and support on dierent issues and signposting young people to youth work activities and services provided by other agencies.

Girl’s work – youth workers have worked with female only groups to develop confdence and self-awareness through discussion and group work activities that have focused on issues such as positive body image, healthy relationships, rights and responsibilities, physical and mental wellbeing.

Youth club sessions – the youth building has provided young people with a base to chill out with friends, play or listen to music, access the internet/games consoles, play pool/table tennis or get involved in more structured activities.

site activities – throughout the year and particularly during holiday periods young people have enjoyed taking part in a wide range of activities that have included kayaking, bushcraft, climbing, mountain biking, bowling, ice skating, fishing, and golfing to name but a few!
