Programme of work - 16+

16+ programme16+ Programme - The Box Youth Project has an enviable track record for supporting young people who have left school to engage in training, education or employment. Youth Workers contact young people who are known to be NEET and aim to engage them in our Post 16 Programmes.

We work with young people for 3 afternoons /week to identify the barriers that are preventing them from getting a job, returning to education or securing a place on a training programme. Individuals are provided with one to one support to encourage them to explore options available to them.

The support we provide to young people includes:

• help with preparing a CV
• learning how to search for job vacancies
• help with completing application forms
• interview skills
• visits to colleges and training providers
• visits to places of employment
• work experience placements
• volunteering experiences

Some young people may work towards an ASDAN Award in Employability Skills Some young people may choose to enrol on our Foundation Learning Programme – a 26 week programme that focuses upon personal and social development and the development of employability skills.
